Deputy Clerk/Community & Economic Development Clerk

The Village of Mukwonago, WI (population 8,389) is seeking an experienced professional for its full-time Deputy Clerk/Community Economic Development Clerk position.  This position is essential to our customer service operation.  It is primary contact for our Building Inspection Department and additionally assisting the Village Clerk’s Office with general duties such as tax collections, election administration, records management, and licensing. 

Education Requirements Include: A High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of two years office experience or any combination of education and experience that provides the equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.  A valid driver’s license is required.

Salary and Benefits: This non-exempt position has an hourly range set between $22.52 to $30.40 per hour, depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Public Works Seasonal Crewperson Flyer

Village of Mukwonago Public Works Department is seeking applicants for part time seasonal crewperson for the 2024 summer season. (Approximately May through August)

Primary Duties include sports field prep, park maintenance, mowing, and trimming.  Successful candidates must be over 18 on or before start date.

Now Hiring Part-time Crossing Guard

The Village of Mukwonago Police Department is seeking applicants for the part-time position of school crossing guard for the intersection of STH 83/North Rochester Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Working hours are every school day from 7:00am to 7:30am, 8:00am to 8:30am and 3:30pm to 4:00pm (2:30pm to 3:00pm on early release Wednesdays). Although not required to remain at the intersection between 7:30am and 8:00am, the crossing guard is paid for this time for a total of two hours pay each working day. Pay is $20.00/hr and the crossing guard averages 400 hours per year.

The primary responsibility of an adult school crossing guard is to help children safely cross the street as they walk or bicycle to and from school.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Discourage children from behaving unsafely near traffic, such as darting into the street without looking or crossing against a traffic signal. A guard can encourage safe behavior by all pedestrians at the school crossing. Use existing gaps in traffic to help students cross safely. When the natural traffic flow does not allow enough time for children to safely cross a street, a guard may need to create gaps by stopping traffic temporarily. The guard stops traffic with hand signals or a STOP paddle, then verbally directs children to cross the street. A guard is always the first person in the street and the last person out of the street. Alert motorists that pedestrians are in the process of using the school crossing.Observe and report any incidents or conditions that present a potential safety hazard to the school children or the guard.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years of age; High school graduate, GED or HSED; Able to speak, read, understand and write the English language; No felony convictions.
